It isn’t society’s fault at all…it’s theirs:
As this is Mother’s Day I want to send a special thanks to my mom for navigating my father from Florida to Ontario with stops at close to 70 stores along the way…and not, as she threatened, filing adoption papers in the hopes that some desperate couple without children would be willing to take me off their hands so my folks could enjoy their retirement instead of being put to work. Of course, I’m kidding…they found several couples, but the money wasn’t high enough. Apparently, I won’t fit into a bassinet.
Oh neato, a photo of your folks and their home away from home in front of a B&N!!!!! You better beg them to keep you, they’re awesome 🙂
They also look very proud 🙂
What is your dad holding?
Thanks. Dad’s holding a copy of what we call in the biz a sell sheet Pocket did up for the upcoming mass market of Darkness and hard cover of Light of Burning Shadows. It has some promo information on it as well more technical stuff and contact info on the back.
Great picture! What neat parents you have! I really enjoyed following their cross-country bookstore visits through your blog.
Thank you. Yeah, I think I’ll keep them. They really have been amazing in all their support. They’re still at it, too, in Canada.
Thanks, I feel pretty fortunate to have them.
