Ok, when they said podcast I thought they meant video and audio. I went into S&S today to do the interview and due to the heat I thoughtfully brought along an extra shirt and comb so that I wouldn’t look all sweaty and disheveled for the interview. Brilliant. I was shown into the recording booth and sat down in front of a mike on a table. I didn’t actually ask ‘where’s the camera?’ but I came close before I clued in. It was a lot of fun. Amre of S&S audio asked me the questions while Terry, the sound engineer, handled the technical side. And I managed to answer everything in one take…maybe two…ok, no more than five. Terry assured me he’d make it sound great, so I imagine they’ll bring a voice actor in later to redub the whole thing.
Um, do I smile into this thing?

A Random Thought (with apologies)
By the way, if you haven’t checked out “LibraryThing” on the net, you really should. It’s a fascinating website that allows people to catalogue their private book collections. The search engine is extremely user-friendly and, without too much effort, you will be able to see who is buying your book and what other books they own. The site also appears to encourage authors to join, so I’m sure they would love to have you as a member.
Re: A Random Thought (with apologies)
Thanks for the site. I’ll give it a look.
Cheers,
Chris
Congratulations!
The book arrived today. That’s one gorgeous cover. I’m looking forward to reading the book next week.
I love it, too. The artist, John Picacio, took several elements from the novel to combine them into the sword/tree/vines/star. I think it was the Pocket Books designer, Alan Dingman, that did the black frost. I’m thrilled with it.

Hey, I’m a fellow author (published by DAW) and saw your book in the bookstore today. Congrats! It looks interesting and I’ve added it to my list. I was wondering if you’d be interested in doing an author introduction on my LJ at some point (there’s one up for Jenna Rhodes at the moment if you want to check one out). Basically, you write a post introducing yourself and your book to my LJ readers. You can talk about whatever you’d like in the entry, pose questions, talk about your world, your writing, etc. Whatever you want. I add in cover art and links to amazon and mysterious galaxy so people can buy your book if they want.
In any case, if you’re interested in doing one, contact me at jpalmatier@sff.net. If not, well, I friended you here and will let you know what I think of the book once I get a chance to read it. *grin*
Re: Off Topic
Hi, Joshua:
Thanks for the chance to say hello to your readers. Sure, I’d be happy to.
Cheers,
Chris
Re: Off Topic
Great! All you have to do is write up what you want the post to say and send it to me at jpalmatier@sff.net. Include any webpage links you might want, as well as links to excerpts or reviews, etc. As I said, I’ll put in cover art images and links to amazon and mysterious galaxy. Just have fun with it! I look forward to seeing what you have to say!
